  • August 2 – Saturn at opposition to Earth, making it fully illuminated and visible all night long
  • August 12, 13 – Perseids Meteor Shower – above average shower, up to 60 meteors per hour at peak. Runs from July 17th to August 24th, but these dates are the peak.
  • August 13 – Black Women’s Equal Pay Day
  • August 19 – Jupiter at opposition to Earth, making it fully illuminated and visible all night long
  • August 22 – Obon/Hungry Ghost Festival
  • August 23 – International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition
  • August 26 – Women’s Equality Day

  • November 7 – Daylight Savings Time Ends (US and Canada)
  • November 11 – Veteran’s Day (Federal holiday)
  • November 11 – Remembrance Day (Public holiday)
  • November 14 – Remembrance Day
  • November 17,18 – Leonids Meteor Shower – average shower, up to 15 meteors per hour at peak, however the approaching full moon will make visibility difficult
  • November 19 – International Men’s Day
  • November 19 – Partial Lunar Eclipse visible throughout most of eastern Russia, Japan, the Pacific Ocean, North America, Mexico, Central America, and parts of western South America
  • November 20 – Transgender Day of Remembrance

  • December 7 – Start of the Geminids Meteor Shower that will peak December 13-14, and run through December 17
  • December 10 – International Human Rights Day
  • December 13,14 – Geminids Meteor Shower – MAJOR meteor shower, up to 120 MULTICOLORED meteors per hour at peak, however the approaching full moon will make visibility difficult
  • December 21 – Yule/Winter Solstice [Greater Sabbat] (Litha/Midsummer/Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere)
  • December 21,22 – Ursids Meteor Shower – minor shower, up to 5-10 meteors per hour at peak
  • December 24 – Christmas Eve
  • December 25 – Christmas Day (Public/Bank holiday)
  • December 26,27,28 – Boxing Day (Public/Bank holiday)
  • December 31 – New Year’s Eve
