Book Review of Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics by Dan Harris, Jeff Warren, and Carlye Adler

This book is probably the most non-new-age book I’ve read, or heard about on meditation. If you’re looking for a book that approaches meditation from a more scientific, health centered basis, then this is the perfect book for you. It’s packed with lots of reasons to meditate, addresses all the common hurdles to meditation, and gives you a lot of practical advice to get started meditating right away and build a consistent and life-long practice.

If I had to describe this book in two words: insightful and helpful.

Book Review of Wild by Cheryl Strayed

The book WIld follows Cheryl Strayed, our main character who makes no apologies about being a flawed human being but who is also introspective about her failings at the same time. Throughout her trek along the scenic and danger wrought Pacific Coast Trail, Cheryl makes an attempt to process and grieve for her mother’s death, the other losses in her life, and to reconnect with herself.

If I had to describe this book in two words: adventurous and interesting.

2020 Reading Goals and To Be Read (TBR)

I have pledged 52 books for the 2020 Goodreads Reading Challenge. Given reading rates in December 2019 and currently all I need to do is maintain my current reading at about half pace to meet this goal. I’m really hoping I meet this one with flying colors and I can say that 2019 was the start of my new reading addiction!
